BREAKING!! Elections for governor and state assembly are postponed to March 18 by INEC
The elections for governor and state assemblies have been postponed to March 18 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The intended date for the election was March 11.
Following a meeting of its executives on Wednesday night, the commission announced that the election could not proceed as planned due to a logistical difficulty caused by BVAS configuration and transportation.
On the basis that it needed to modify the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) in order to conduct the elections this Saturday, the commission persuaded the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to modify the order granting Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP permission to inspect the election materials.
