Ten Hag Speaks Following Man United’s Heartbreaking Loss to Tottenham

After his team fell 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag stated that it is “obvious” why he wanted to buy a striker this summer.

A few strikers, including former Spurs star Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich last week, were connected to the Red Devils.

Rasmus Hjlund, 20, was chosen by Ten Hag instead in a contract that cost £64 million plus an additional £8 million in add-ons.

Ten Hag acknowledged the timing of Hjlund’s arrival after watching his team go scoreless at the Tottenham Stadium. Hjlund has yet to make his debut due to injury.

“We believe these players, last year as well, can score goals. It’s also obvious why we signed a striker.

“If all goes well, Marital is on the way back, Højlund also is coming, so we will have more players to score a goal. The players on the pitch can also score goals,” Ten Hag said.
