Constitutional attorneys have fiercely denounced the DSS’s activities for their lack of professionalism and demanded the agency’s director-general, Yusuf Bichi, be suspended from his duties and placed in custody. They voiced their shock at the DSS’s ongoing disregard for the law and highlighted the necessity for prompt government action to stop this abuse of authority.
The attorneys emphasized how the DSS had previously defied court orders that forbade them from detaining Emefiele and had ordered his release. They added that there are severe worries about the agency’s respect for democracy and that its activities have shown a disregard for the rule of law.
The constitutional lawyers urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act right away and order the arrest of the DSS DG in light of these events in order to hold him responsible for the activities of his agents. They emphasized that such conduct cannot be tolerated and that it is essential to protect the judiciary’s reputation and defend democratic norms.
In conclusion, the altercation has caused criticism and demands for accountability, stressing the necessity of addressing problems with the DSS’s activities and respect for the rule of law in Nigeria.
