Obi Leads in Plateau, Wins Six of Eight Local Government
In six of the eight local government areas in Plateau State where results have been announced by the election body, INEC, the Labour Party’s Peter Obi has prevailed.
In the other two, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, prevailed.
Only eight of the state’s 17 LGAs have their results announced at the INEC State Collation Center as of 9 a.m.
In the collation center, Shehu Abdulrahman, the state’s returning officer for the presidential election, Lafiya, the vice chancellor of the Federal University, and Oliver Agundu, the state resident commissioner, delivered the results of the eight local governments.
Results show that Mr. Obi prevailed in the state’s Langtang North, Barikin Ladi, Riyom, Jos East, Mangu, and Bokkos LGAs while the PDP candidate prevailed in the region’s Langtang South and Mikang LGAs.
As of the time of this publication, Bola Tinubu of the APC had not yet been proclaimed the victor in any local government.
