NigeriaDecides2023: Tinubu Leads As INEC Announces 20 States (See Official Results)

Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, is in the lead following the general election on Saturday.

By of Monday night, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared collated results from 20 states.

With 5,862,453 votes, Tinubu is in the lead. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has received 4,288,434 votes.

With 2,834,932 votes, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) is currently in third position; Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) received 1,315,549.

It’s interesting to note that Tinubu is the only leading candidate to lose his home state, losing Lagos to Obi.
In Katsina, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku won.

The Federal Capital Territory’s, or FCT’s, results will also be released today starting at 11 a.m.

The national collation center is located at the International Conference Centre, or ICC, in Abuja, which continues to be under strict surveillance.

On Monday, the opposition demanded that the results announcement be postponed.
Dino Melaye and Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP eventually left the ICC.

The parties raised concerns about anomalies, excessive voting, and officials’ reluctance to post results on the INEC website, among other things.

Newsmen’s checks reveal that 79,673 of the 176,846 polling places in the 774 local government districts contributed results.
