In order to begin the “healing process,” Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has established committees to meet with disgruntled presidential contenders.

This information was revealed in a statement released on Wednesday by Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, a member of the committees.

He said that an All Progressives Congress (APC) committee of elders will soon start holding meetings with the president-fellow elect’s candidates in an effort to console them for their defeat in the just completed election.

He emphasized that every person who feels wronged would be reached for reconciliation.

The governor said, “We are going to meet with them and make a case for cooperation.

The Independent National Electoral Commission pronounced Tinubu the winner of the election on Wednesday with a total vote count of 8,794,726. (INEC).

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), three of the leading opposition parties in the election, have rejected the results, claiming that the electoral umpire did not follow the rules set forth in the Electoral Act 2022 regarding electronic transmission of results.

The opposition has also promised to sue to overturn the election results.

Atiku Abubakar received 6,984,520 votes, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) received 6,101,533, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP received 1,496,687.

The former governor of Lagos State extended olive branches to his rivals in his Wednesday acceptance address.
