The Atiku Abubakar campaign office Sealed Off In Rivers

The Rivers State campaign office for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has been closed.

The Rivers State PDP presidential campaign committee claims that the action was carried out as per the state government’s orders.

The office, which is located in GRA Port Harcourt, was closed off early on Friday.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State recently signed Executive Order 22, which forbids political parties from setting up campaign offices without government permission in residential zones.

The PDP PCC in Rivers State, however, said that its media team had requested permission from the state government but had not heard back for several weeks.

As a result, the organization denounced the statute for “rubber stamping on our fundamental right to free expression of opinion.”

Additionally, it stated that this despicable action by the Rivers State Government “tends to militarize our democracy and renders our dear state politically recessive when pitted with other states in the country,” when viewed through the political lens.
