Victor Osimhen, a forward for Napoli, has emphasized the influence of coach Luciano Spalletti on his growth.
Osimhen and Spalletti, who is in his second season at the club, get along well at work.
Last season, the 23-year-old made 32 appearances for the Partenopei and scored 18 goals.
The forward’s performance has improved this season as well; in 14 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 11 goals and supplied three assists.
Osimhen identified Spalletti’s influence as the primary cause of his outstanding performances.
“My growth is linked to Spalletti,” Osimhen told Napoli magazine.
“He believes in me. He gives me stimuli, makes me work hard, and never lets me stop. With him, everything is easier because you understand that it’s a job that makes you do it to improve even more. It’s just the beginning for me, I haven’t reached any milestones yet.”
Osimhen is anticipated to play when Napoli plays Lille in a friendly on Thursday night.
