For Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, the federal government declares a public holiday.

The Federal Government has set aside the following days as public holidays for Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day celebrations, respectively: Monday, December 26, Tuesday, December 27, and Monday, January 2, 2023.

On behalf of Interior Minister Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Government, made this announcement on Friday in Abuja.

Aregbesola congratulated Christians and all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, on the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s festivities.
He exhorted Christians to follow Christ’s teachings of faith, hope, and love.
