Buhari declares that Tinubu will be the next president of Nigeria as the APC holds a major rally in Lagos State
On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari wished the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Sen. Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, well in the general elections scheduled for Saturday in Nigeria.
This statement was given by Buhari at the APC Presidential Campaign’s big finale in Surulere, Lagos State’s Teslim Balogun Stadium.
“l hereby raise the hand of the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“Congratulations and l wish APC the very best of luck,”
stated the President.
In his remarks, Tinubu thanked Buhari for his encouragement and support as he ran for the position of Nigeria’s next president.
The former two-term governor of Lagos State asserted that in order to succeed Buhari, a candidate must put in significant effort and uphold the law.
“You follow all the procedure during the party primaries, votes were cast, and l won.
“You did not ask them to reverse it based on my tribe or religion, not minding being from your village in Daura. “Leadership is for growth, independence of mind and capacity to perform which you encouraged me to inculcate,”
He, therefore, gave his assurance to work hard if elected and promised to sustain democracy.
The APC presidential candidate said:
“I will renew the hopes of the hopeless and all the goals and agenda set in our manifesto will be fulfilled.”
Also, Tinubu asked the populace to cast their votes for him and the other APC candidates by turning out in large numbers.
