Akpabio Appoints Principal Officers for the 10th Senate: Bamidele, Ndume, Umahi, and Asiru

On Tuesday, the 10th Senate‘s majority officers were named by Godswill Akpabio, the Senate’s president.

The new officers are Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South as Chief Whip, Opeyemi Bamidele, who represents Ekiti State Central as Senate Leader, Dave Umahi, who represents Ebonyi South as Deputy Senate Leader, and Lola Ashiru, who represents Kwara South as Deputy Chief Whip.

In addition to announcing the names of minority principal officers, Akpabio stated that the election of the principal officers was made by consensus.

They are Senator Rufai Hanga (Kano Central) as Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Darlington Nwokeocha (Abia Central) as Minority Whip, and Senator Simon Davou (Plateau North) as Minority Leader.
