Liverpool and Southampton’s Star Lavia Reach a £60 million Deal
Chelsea’s Premier League rivalry has suffered a new setback as a result of Liverpool‘s handling of the acquisition of Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
In order to beat Chelsea to the signing of Lavia this summer, Liverpool and Southampton have reached a £60 million agreement.
This summer’s transfer window has seen rumors of moves to bring in the Belgian from both Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Reds have previously had several bids for the 19-year-old rejected by Southampton, and now they are under even more pressure as a result of Chelsea’s interest after the latter made a £48 million offer last week.
However, according to The Guardian, Jurgen Klopp’s team has surpassed Chelsea’s offer and reached a deal with Southampton for Lavia for £60 million.
According to the report, Liverpool still need to persuade Lavia to sign with them rather than Chelsea, and they still run the risk of missing out on another midfield target after Moises Caicedo opted to stay put and sign with the Blues.
