Ritualist who was apprehended blames hardship: “I Bathed With Human Skull For One Month To Increase Patronage In My Shop But No Difference”
Franklin Akinyosuyi, a suspected online fraudster also known as “Yahoo boy,” was detained in Ondo State along with a human skull and other fetish items. He claims he bathed with the skull to increase sales but it had no impact.
He said that the nation’s poverty and economic problems were to blame for his behavior.
Akinyosuyi, 26, who was paraded in front of reporters in Akure over the weekend, claimed that before being seized and detained by police, he intended to engage in rituals to increase his business.
A human skull, which he allegedly kept in a black plastic bag at the area of the compound where he lives, was reportedly discovered by the landlord’s kids, who then reported him to the police.
According to what was learned, the landlord’s kids called the police after discovering the items and inviting them to the compound, where they then arrested the suspect.
Akinyosuyi claimed in a conversation with newsmen that his uncle had taken him to a native physician for rituals to increase sales and draw clients to his photography and boutique company.
He stated:
“The herbalist asked me to pay N200,000 to make a concoction for me. I paid within three weeks.
“He instructed that I should be bathing with the human head every Thursday at exactly 1 am.
“I used it for a month but didn’t see any difference in my business. So, I had to call the herbalist and tell him to refund my money.”
Akinyosuyi claims that despite the herbalist’s assurance that he would return the money, the native doctor declined to come pick up the human skull when he was asked to do so.
“I decided to throw away the human skull. I dropped it in my backyard. Unfortunately, I went out and before I could return, my landlord’s children saw it, informed their father and they called the police,” he said.
The State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, stated that more police investigation resulted in the arrest of another suspect in the murder, Dare Oyegoke, who claimed to be an evangelist.
According to her, Oyegoke reportedly told the police that he provided the fetish objects and the human skull to one Sarafa Oyelade, a native doctor who is believed to have admitted to aiding Akinyosuyi in obtaining the human skull from one Asekun, a local vigilante, in Ikirun, Osun State.
I thought it is only Ibos that are engaged in ritual.Nonsense
