Forbes Links Pastor Tobi Adeboyega To A New Fraud In The UK (Read Gist)
The magazine hoax “WOTC (Women Of The City)” has been connected to Pastor TobiAdeboyega‘s church SPAC Nation, according to a Forbes report.
When visiting the UK, many Nigerian celebrities always turn to preacher Tobi, a well-known and affluent Nigerian preacher who is based there.

One Dr. Yusra Al-Mukhtar, a skincare and beauty clinic owner, was approached by Women of the City (WOTC), a magazine claiming to empower female-owned businesses, with an offer to feature her clinic on the cover.
Al-Mukhtar agreed, expecting the feature to boost her profile as an entrepreneur. However, she later discovered that WOTC demanded a payment of $6,400 for the feature, which she negotiated down to $1,200.
Despite paying the fee, the promised interview never materialized, and the feature was never published. Similar stories emerged from other entrepreneurs who claimed to have lost money to WOTC.
Investigations turned up financial ties between SPAC Nation, a contentious church accused of deceit and exploitation, and WOTC.
Internal correspondence and conversations indicated that SPAC Nation pastors, particularly Pastor Mariam Mola, were active in setting up and managing WOTC.
WOTC denied the allegations but entrepreneurs claimed to have collectively lost at least $195,000 to the magazine. The magazine’s former editor-in-chief, Phadria Prendergast, was associated with both WOTC and SPAC Nation.
The church, known for its flashy displays of wealth, faced scrutiny for its financial practices. WOTC operated by luring small business owners with promises of features and publicity, then charging fees but failing to deliver.
Freelancers also reported not being paid by WOTC. The magazine was eventually liquidated, and Prendergast formed a new magazine called The W. In May, an event organized by Prendergast at Oxford University faced backlash for featuring Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, the former leader of SPAC Nation.
