I backed Akpabio in the Senate because he gave me N200 million, said Wike
In order for Senator Godswill Akapbio to win the position of Senate President of the 10th National Assembly, former governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike explained why he did so.
In 2014 and 2015, Wike claimed that Akpabio gave N200 million to his campaign, highlighting the idea that one good deed deserves another.
Speaking on Sunday during a special thanksgiving ceremony for him that his family had prepared at the St. Peters Deanery in Rumuepirikom, in the Obio-Akpor region of the state.
He said that in 2015, Akpabio overcame opposition to support his bid for governor.
As said by Wike:
“When I was running in 2014 and 2015 he came out and supported me. He gave me N200m for that election. That is why I said one good turn deserves another. I supported him this time and I thank God he won”.
