Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s manager, explains why Chelsea lost 4-1 to Manchester United
Frank Lampard, the temporary manager of Chelsea, praised Manchester United’s “clinical nature” while scoring goals.
That made a difference, according to Lampard, in the Blues’ 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Mykhailo Mudryk missed an early opportunity for the Blues, and then Casemiro headed in the game’s first goal. Before halftime, Anthony Martial added a second goal.
Marcus Rashford added a fourth after Bruno Fernandes successfully converted his penalty.
At Old Trafford, Chelsea got one back thanks to Joao Felix.
As Lampard stated on Sky Sports:
“The clinical nature in front of goal. We were the better football team in the first half – in possession, chances we matched them at least.
“To be 2-0 down is probably a sign of where we’re at. Second half, probably a sign of where we’re at.”
