Haaland, a Man City striker, reveals the toughest defender he has encountered
Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, has praised Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and said the Dutchman is excellent at what he does.
The toughest defender he has thus far encountered in the Premier League, according to Haaland, is the Netherlands international.
Haaland became the player to reach that milestone in the Premier League the quickest with 36 goals and 7 assists in 34 matches this season.
The 22-year-old acknowledged that one defender has challenged him. Van Dijk is that defender, of course.
“There’s many good defenders,” the striker said during an interview with Optus Sport.
“I have to say, Liverpool’s Van Dijk is so good.
“I’ve met him many times with (the) national team, played in Salzburg, met him; he’s really good. That’s who I can think of right now.”
