EXPOSED!! See Here How Alex Ferguson Gave This Former Manchester United Star £100,000 to Resign
Paul McGrath, a legend of Manchester United, has disclosed that Sir Alex Ferguson, the club’s former manager, offered him $100,000 to stop playing football during his tenure at Old Trafford.
One of the best defenders of his era, McGrath spent seven years with Manchester United, where he contributed to the club’s 1985 FA Cup victory.
Yet Ferguson, who aimed to abolish the drinking culture at the club, put an end to his stint with the Red Devils.
“Sir Alex [Ferguson] got me into the room and just said, ‘we would like you to stop playing football’,” McGrath told The Telegraph.
“Simple as that. And he said they were willing to give me £100,000 to quit playing football altogether and just go back to Ireland.
“But I spoke to Kevin Moran and Bryan Robson, and I just said I wanted to play on because I thought I could still do something in football.”
