Olamide recently discussed the reasons for his choice to recruit these musicians to his company in a podcast interview.
When Olamide started getting too much money and didn’t know what to do with it, he decided to sign new artists. He wanted to give back to society by helping new artists achieve their goals.
In his words,
“I just started stacking up money and the money was becoming too much for me. I was like, “yo, I don’t have anything to do with this money. I need to sign new guys. Let me spend money on people.”
My choice has turned out to be a wise one. In the Nigerian music business and elsewhere, Fireboy DML and Asake are well-known figures. Fireboy DML received numerous nominations and accolades for his critically acclaimed and commercially successful debut album, Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps. Mr. Money by Asake, another popular song, has achieved great popularity.
Olamide’s empire has become so large that he is now able to fund further commercial endeavors. Olamide also serves as a brand ambassador for a number of businesses, including Sterling Bank and Guinness Nigeria.
Olamide decided to sign new musicians to his record label for reasons other than financial gain. He wants to support emerging artists and give back to society.
