Why Liverpool defeated us like children, according to Man United’s manager Ten Hag

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, said that his team “lost our minds” in Sunday’s 7-0 hammering by Liverpool.

The loss was one of United’s two worst in a competitive game, whereas Liverpool’s victory against their rivals was their biggest ever.

Ten Hag’s team trailed 1-0 at the interval before surrendering six goals at Anfield in the second half.

“Second half it was not us. It was not our standards. We didn’t play as a team,” said Ten Hag.

Asked if he was angry with his side’s second-half display, he added:

“Yes, definitely, and surprised because I have seen the last weeks and months a team that is resilient and determined with a winning attitude.

“We didn’t stick to the plan, we lose our heads. We didn’t do our jobs. We didn’t track back and it was really unprofessional.”
