Thugs break into voting locations in Lagos and light ballot boxes on fire

Several armed thugs surrounded various voting places in Lagos’ Oshodi and Itire neighborhoods, torching some ballots and boxes.

Around 11.30 on Saturday morning, the masked, all-black thugs came in the vicinity.

When the thugs arrived, some voters who were unable to flee were hurt.

Some minutes after several security employees on election duty left their post, according to sources, the armed thugs reportedly roamed the area.

Tajudeen Haruna said that a few minutes later, the thugs started shooting, scaring away the voters.

“It was later that the thugs set the ballot box and some materials on fire,” he said.

Similar to this, a group of criminals attacked the Itire region about 12 o’clock, scaring away voters from the many polling places in the neighborhood.

According to James Nwoke, it was an intentional effort to deny non-indigenous people in the state the right to vote.

To prevent the collapse of law and order, there is a significant military and police presence on Saturday throughout the Lagos metropolis.

Ago Palace Way, Apapa-Oshodi, Okota, and some other roads were turned into football fields at the same time by young men.

Also, there is a noticeable tension in the majority of Ago, Isolo, and Ire-Akri due to several voters’ failure to find their polling places.
