Real, the current champions and the team who defeated Liverpool in the season’s final in Paris, were the first European team to score five goals at Anfield despite falling down 2-0 early on as Liverpool made a spectacular start to this round of 16 match.
Four minutes in, Darwin Nunez’s beautiful flick gave Liverpool the lead, and ten minutes later, Mohamed Salah capitalized on Thibaut Courtois’ shoddy clearance to give Liverpool a two-goal lead.
