Due to the shortage of naira, Zenith Bank suspends operations in its branches

Due to reported attacks on its personnel and network, Zenith Bank has shuttered some of its branches in the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT, and some states across the nation.

Some of the bank’s branches were reportedly locked on Tuesday, according to a NAN correspondent who checked on them in the FCT, its surroundings, and other states.

Both the gate and the bank’s ATM Gallery at the Zenith Bank Check-Point branch on Nyanya-Mararaba Road were shut, and no customers were visible nearby.

Some of the bank’s branches were also shut down because there weren’t enough replacement naira notes, according to a bank official who asked to remain anonymous.

The representative claimed that clients who were unable to remove the new notes from their accounts attacked many of their branches throughout the nation.

According to NAN, some social media video footage depicted bank employees leaping fences to flee mob assaults from clients at the attacked banks.

Some bank clients have been venting about their experiences on social media in the meantime.
