Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, breaks the Guinness World Record in a cooking contest
Hilda, the Nigerian Jollof Queen, began the contest on Thursday at 4 p.m. by turning on her cooker, and on Monday morning she defeated the previous world record holder.
A Nigerian chef by the name of Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, has broken the record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual” after clocking in at 87 hours and 50 minutes.
Hilda, the Nigerian Jollof Queen, began the contest on Thursday at 4 p.m. by turning on her cooker, and on Monday morning she defeated the previous world record holder.
The current world record holder, Indian chef Lata Tondon, who accomplished the feat in 2019 with 87 hours and 45 minutes of record-breaking uninterrupted cooking, would be surpassed if she is recognized by Guinness World Records.
in the moment, Baci is engaged in a 96-hour cooking marathon in Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos State, where she hopes to break the previous record.
Nigerians, including a number of celebrities, braved the downpour to support the obviously exhausted chef as she continued her record-breaking quest. On Monday, Baci had been running for four days.
