Olamide, one of Nigeria’s most successful and well-known rappers, said “Sapa” served as inspiration for his record label YBNL Nation and that he didn’t want to spend extravagantly or needlessly.
The musician made the decision to recycle wealth by reinvesting in the music industry.
The YBNL boss discussed how he decided to turn his passion for music into a successful business in an interview with Nandi Madida of Apple Music’s Africa Now Radio. The YBNL boss has signed artists including Lil Kesh, Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold, Viktoh, Davolee, and many others.
“The world was in love with my stuff, (and) I was grateful for that,” he stated in response to the host. However, I also thought it was important to make sure I continued to invest in the same things that were winning over my admirers. It used to be all about passion, but I decided it was past time I took charge, made investments, and turned it into a legitimate enterprise.
I didn’t want to let all that money just be wasted on ‘ballin’ (having fun),’ so I launched my own record company and began signing artists. All of that cash has to be reinvested in the company. That was how everything got started.
The YBNL CEO stated of his upcoming “Unruly” tour: “I believe the last time I was on stage was at Mr Money (Asake)’s concert in London, United Kingdom, last year. However, I will be performing in Nigeria in December. throughout addition, I’ll be on tour throughout Europe and the United States next summer. I’m going to start traveling again.
“I’ve been getting ‘come outdoors’ requests from my admirers. I am now prepared. Due to how wild the new wave is at the moment and the difficulty of finding a means to keep up with it, I have been working hard on the ground to get my stuff together and put in some effort. I have so been working on that for a very long time. It took me so long because of that.
