Footballer of the Year Award goes to Man City’s Haaland
Erling Haaland, the king of goals for Manchester City, has been named Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association.
Sam Kerr, a striker for Chelsea Women, also took up the female honor.
Haaland, 22, had a remarkable debut season at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 51 goals in all competitions.
With four games remaining in the season, Manchester City is not only in the final of the FA Cup but also the semi-finals of the Champions League.
All of these were made possible by Haaland’s outstanding performance.
The goal scorer received 82 percent of the FWA voting, with Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal coming in second.
